Frequently Asked Questions

What is Stones?

Stones is a faith journaling and community app inspired by 1 Samuel 7:12. Drop a "stone" every time you see God move in your life โ€” an answered prayer, a moment of peace, His provision. Over time, you build your testimony, one stone at a time.

Is Stones free to use?

Yes. All core features โ€” dropping stones, building your journey, joining circles, sending encouragement โ€” are free. Optional donations help us keep the lights on and the app ad-free.

What are Circles?

Circles are private groups of up to 12 people. Your small group, prayer warriors, family, or close friends. Stones dropped in a circle stay in that circle. Members can pray, encourage, and walk with each other.

How do I invite someone to my Circle?

From your Circle's detail screen, tap "Add Member." You can invite by Stones username (if they're already on Stones) or by email (we'll send them an invitation). Email invitations work even if the person isn't on Stones yet โ€” they'll be guided to sign up.

Can I delete a stone?

Yes. Tap any of your own stones to open it, then tap the menu to delete. Deleted stones cannot be recovered โ€” be sure before tapping confirm.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. Go to Profile โ†’ Settings โ†’ Delete Account. This permanently removes your stones, circles you own, prayers, and personal data. This cannot be undone.

Are my stones private?

You control privacy on every stone. Stones dropped in a Circle are visible only to Circle members. Stones marked as "Public" appear on the global Wall. Personal stones (not in a circle, not public) are visible only to you.

How does scripture work in Stones?

You can tag any stone with a Bible verse reference. Stones uses the Tyndale New Living Translation (NLT) via API.Bible โ€” fully licensed for use within the app.

What's the Anniversary Reminder?

If you've dropped a stone on this day in a previous year, Stones will gently remind you. Looking back at how God showed up last year โ€” or three years ago โ€” deepens faith.
