About Stones
What is Stones?
Stones is a faith community app for marking the moments God shows up. Drop a stone when something is worth remembering, lift a prayer when something is heavy, and gather in small private circles with family, a small group, or a prayer chain. It's named for the Ebenezer stone Samuel set up in 1 Samuel 7:12 — "Thus far the Lord has helped us."
Is Stones free?
Yes. Stones is free to download and use. There are no ads, and we don't sell your information. If you'd like to support development, you can donate — but it isn't required, and nothing in the app is locked behind giving.
Who is Stones for?
Anyone who wants a quieter, more reverent place to keep testimony and pray with their community. Stones is built from a Christian point of view, but the app itself is gentle — it won't push doctrine at you, and small groups and ministries can shape their own circles to fit their tradition.
Getting started
What devices does Stones run on?
Stones is currently an iOS app, available on iPhone and iPad through the App Store. An Android version may follow once iOS is stable.
Do I need an account?
You'll create a simple account so your stones, prayers, and circles can sync to your device and be backed up safely. We ask for as little information as possible — see our privacy policy for the full picture of what we collect and why.
How do I drop my first stone?
Once you're signed in, look for the gold action button on the main wall. You can write a short reflection, attach a photo, add a verse, and choose whether the stone is private or shared with one of your circles. Stones can always be edited or deleted later.
Circles & community
What is a Circle?
A Circle is a small private space for a group — family, a Bible study, a prayer chain, a ministry team. You invite the people you want, and only those people see what's shared inside. Circles are not public, not searchable, and not algorithmically promoted.
How do I join or create a Circle?
Any account can create a Circle and invite others by email or invite link. To join a Circle someone else has created, you'll need an invitation from that Circle's owner.
How do I report inappropriate content or a member?
Every stone and prayer has a small menu (usually a three-dot icon) with a Report option. Reports come to us directly and we review them quickly. You can also email info@cjsdigital.ca at any time with concerns; please include enough detail for us to find the content (a Circle name, a date, a username).
Within your own Circle, the Circle owner can also remove members and delete content directly.
Privacy & your account
Who can see what I share?
It depends on where you share it:
- Personal stones are visible only to you.
- Stones shared to a Circle are visible only to the members of that Circle.
- Nothing in Stones is ever public, indexed by search engines, or shared outside the app.
For the full picture, see our privacy policy.
How do I delete my account and my data?
You can delete your account directly from inside the app, under Settings → Account → Delete Account. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile and your personal stones. Prayers and stones you've contributed to a Circle will be removed unless the Circle has elected to retain shared history; in that case those entries become anonymous.
If you're having trouble doing this from the app, write to info@cjsdigital.ca and we will delete your account and confirm in writing.
I forgot my password.
On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password and we'll email you a reset link. If you don't receive it within a few minutes, check your spam folder, then write to us if you still can't get in.
Can I export my stones?
Yes. Under Settings → Account → Export My Data, you can request a download of everything you've contributed in a portable format. We'll prepare the file and email it to you within a few days.
For churches & ministries
Can my church or small group use Stones?
Yes, and we'd love to hear from you. Stones works well for prayer chains, small groups, women's and men's ministries, recovery groups, and any setting where a private, reverent place to share is helpful. Write to info@cjsdigital.ca and we'll talk through what would help most.
Still need help?
Tell us what you're seeing and, if you're comfortable, the kind of device you're using. We'll get back to you.
